Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn about the key political powers and significant events of the 11th century that influenced the beginning of the Crusades. They will explore how the interactions between these empires and kingdoms created the conditions for this major historical conflict. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
