In this lesson, students will learn about the catastrophic eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79 and its impact on the ancient city of Pompeii. They will explore how archaeological and historical evidence has provided a detailed understanding of the events and daily life in Pompeii before and after the disaster. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, source analysis, research, and video watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
