Spartan Hegemony Lesson

In this lesson, students will learn how Sparta's dominance over Greece after the Peloponnesian War led to resentment among its allies and eventually caused its downfall. They will explore how Sparta's harsh rule, reliance on Persian support, and military defeat at the Battle of Leuctra contributed to the loss of its power. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
