Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will explore the role of women in Spartan society, focusing on their education, physical training, and influence over property and family life. They will examine how Spartan women's status and responsibilities differed from those of women in other Greek city-states, particularly Athens. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
