Lesson objectives

In this lesson, students will learn about the strategic and tactical maneuvers employed by Scipio Africanus and Hannibal during the Battle of Zama, and how this decisive encounter concluded the Second Punic War. They will explore the broader historical context, including the political and military careers of both generals and the long-term implications of Rome's victory over Carthage. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
