Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will explore the complex and often overlooked history of resistance by First Nations leaders in Australia against European colonization, focusing on figures like Pemulwuy, Musquito, Windradyne, Yagan, and Jandamarra. They will learn about the strategies, challenges, and impacts of these indigenous warriors, gaining insight into the broader context of cultural clash and resistance during Australia's colonial era. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
