Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will learn about the historical development of the ancien regime in France, including how the social and political system evolved from medieval feudalism to an absolute monarchy. They will explore the roles of different estates and understand the growing tensions that eventually led to the French Revolution. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
