Frontier Wars Lesson

In this lesson, students will learn about the dark and often overlooked history of European settlement in Australia, marked by brutal massacres and violence against Indigenous Australians from 1788 to 1901. They will explore specific events such as the Bathurst War, Myall Creek Massacre, and Coniston Massacre, understanding the impact of these atrocities on Indigenous communities and the importance of acknowledging and learning from this painful past. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through their choice of reading or internet research, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
