In this lesson, students will explore the often-overlooked Middle Eastern theatre of World War I, learning about the strategic battles fought in the deserts of Egypt, Palestine, and beyond. They will gain insights into the roles and challenges faced by the British, ANZAC, and Ottoman forces, understanding how geography, climate, and military tactics shaped this unique front of the war. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
