July Crisis Lesson

In this lesson, students will delve into the events and political tensions of 1914 that culminated in the outbreak of World War One, starting with the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand. Through a detailed exploration, they will understand how interconnected alliances, nationalist ambitions, and geopolitical strategies set the stage for one of history's most devastating conflicts. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, research, and video watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities.
