In this lesson, students will explore the historical context and significance of the Marshall Plan and the Truman Doctrine, understanding their roles in rebuilding post-World War II Europe, containing the spread of communism, and shaping the geopolitical landscape during the early days of the Cold War. Additionally, students will analyze the economic, political, and strategic implications of these initiatives, examining how they benefited both European countries and American interests, and fostered cooperation and development in Europe. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, research, and watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
