In this lesson, students will explore the rise, development and fall of the Han dynasty in China, examining how its two distinct periods brought different approaches to ruling and expanding the empire. They will investigate the political, military and diplomatic achievements of the Han emperors, and consider how internal conflict and external threats eventually brought one of China's most important dynasties to an end. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading, research, and watching options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
