Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will examine how a series of technological inventions transformed the production of cotton textiles in Britain during the Industrial Revolution. They will explore how the shift from cottage industry to the factory system changed the way work was organised and how goods were produced on a mass scale. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading or research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
