The Role of Women in WWI Lesson

Learning objectives

In this lesson, students will examine the roles women took on during World War One, from factory work and nursing to military and political activism. They will explore how these contributions challenged pre-war expectations and helped bring about significant social and political changes in the years following the war. Students will have the opportunity to achieve this through choosing their own method of learning, from reading and research options, as well as the chance to engage in extension activities. This lesson includes a self-marking quiz for students to demonstrate their learning.
